## Supported tech stack

Research checked: 2026-10-11

### Integrates with

- PostgreSQL (Integration)
- S3 (Integration)
- SQLite (Integration)

Source: [Research source](<https://picomq.com/docs/>)

Documented compatibility; coverage may be incomplete. Written in describes implementation, not user-project language support.

Message streaming runs as a PostgreSQL extension or service with PostgreSQL/SQLite metadata and S3-compatible storage.

### What we like

Each stream is independent and scales with the object store, so disks or capacity to manage. Benchmarked up to 100 MiB/s per stream. Metadata control plane independent from storage (SQL, either an ordered command log in Postgres or SQLite). The client is HTTP. One binary (Rust).

### Tradeoffs

Not designed for very low latency - object storage commit often requires tens of milliseconds.

## Is PicoMQ a fit?

Based on [Console’s review published on 2026-08-27](<https://console.dev/tools/picomq#review_078bbb7db77bd121e0afc5547cb0e20f47cdead5d58154bc69364535db31c27b>).

Summary updated: 2026-10-16
