Self-hosted Heroku alternative.
What we like
Provides an orchestration layer and web UI for installing and managing self-hosted services. Provision databases and common apps like Ghost, MinIO & Plausible Analytics. Includes pre-packaged setup for common frameworks (NextJS, Deno, Laravel) and languages (PHP, Python, Rust). Can also run generic Docker containers. Open source.
What we don't like
Runs on a single server, which is great for self-hosting non-critical apps, but you then have to deal with server admin, updates, and scaling it yourself.
Console is the place developers go to find the best tools. Each week, our weekly newsletter picks out the most interesting tools and new releases. We keep track of everything - dev tools, devops, cloud, and APIs - so you don't have to.
✦ Disclosure: All reviews are editorially independent and partners must meet our selection criteria.
