Console’s review

· Reviewed by David Mytton

What we like

Source remains compatible with Go, but uses the C Application Binary Interface (ABI) to allow interfacing with other languages (JS, Python, C/C++). FFI performance without FFI. Supports the latest Go 1.27 syntax and cgo, but without cgo. Goroutines map to OS threads. Native, Wasm, and embedded targets.

Tradeoffs

Goroutines map to OS threads, which are heavier than lightweight goroutines. Garbage collection is more conservative and different per target, so it needs benchmarking vs pure Go.
