What we like
Provides an ergonomic interface to the database built into every browser (IndexedDB). Has built-in support for React, Svelte, Vue, and other frameworks which avoids boilerplate and lets components query the DB. Supports live queries to update UI in real-time.
Tradeoffs
IndexedDB is obviously tied to a browser and origin. Sync requires a third-party service (Dexie Cloud is an option which works nicely). It’s very important to understand promises otherwise behavior might be unexpected e.g. committing transactions.
