What we like

Init, coreutils, networking, etc all written in Go. Statically linked. Includes a package manager, also written in Go. Can upgrade running systems in place. Built on the Linux kernel, then the Go init becomes PID 1. Supports both server and (Wayland) desktop. Website is served by GoNIX itself.

Tradeoffs

Does have to build some C, which it does with musl.
